I hope you took pictures of your dad when he got off the plane. You could put them in your scrapbook. Glad you get to see part of your crazy family. My crazy family just left (around 12:30pm) from Louisiana; mom was complaining about dad and how he doesn't help clean anything. And dad's going to be complaining about how mom kept them in LA for so long (he likes to leave at 6am). We should put both our parents in a big tub full of lard and see what happens, and place bets on who'll still be alive after 12 hours. I love my Jen - wish you were here to run with me (yes, I actually felt like running yesterday).
I need my your rational outlook on everything. I just found another part of the stony brook website that talks about acceptance rates. They only accept 2% of their applicants ANNNNNDDDD the AVERAGE and i repeat AVERAGE GRE scores are 620 on V and 740 on math!!!! I've just got shocked back to reality...There is NO way now... and I'm totally depressed. I could study from now until next year and still not get those kind of scores!!!! Kristi!!!!!!!!!
What did I tell you about ignoring statistics? Go on, say it slowly: "Ignore the statistics." Do I need repeat it again? Seriously, there's no way better to slowly have your soul eaten away by anxiety... Do you think I haven't quaked in fear every time a school I'm applying to says they have a 1% acceptance rate, or that everyone going there has a verbal GRE score over 600? Well, ignore those bastards. So that's the Average - that means they very well have people there who got 800s on both scores, AND that people also go there who got 400 on both; it doesn't exclude either one - you know from statistics that Average doesn't give a full representation of the range of scores they accept. So, if you have to, accept the fact that a lot of people might be better test-takers than you. Who knows, maybe they're a bunch of Katie Clits, in which case it doesn't matter how good their GRE scores are because they'll be destined to be fat whorish bastards the rest of their lives anyway. Just worry about making the best scores that JEN can
( ... )
What´s the GRE again...it sounds like something I should know about...but i have a feeling it´s one of those truths that is painful, like there is no santa claus and that everyone dies. So scratch that. Jen, I´m happy to here you have papa over for thanksgiving...and are eating faux-turkey. HAPPY THANKSGIVING a ti!
it's a test, like the SAT or ACT, that's supposed to help you get into graduate school (provided you get good scores). I hope your thanksgiving was grand as well.
yea I know, I was trying to be funny...sometimes it just doesnt translate in livejournal...or into spanish for that matter. I think the GRE sounds GRE-EEEEAT! Or maybe not. Happy Nov.28th
