Ok, this isn't as pretty as Baranduins hotel set up for Seattle, but here goes. I looked on hotels.com and priceline but I'm sure you all may know of others I don't have listed. Feel free to chime in and contribute... ( Read more... )
Dumb question. . . how are you guys planning on getting around when you're here in Chi-town? I can do some ferrying, but not a whole lot as(depending on auditions) I think I have a show I am working on that weekend.
IF you are thinking about public trans, I can work up some maps and directions and such. . . and I can possibly suggest some hotels downtown as well. I know when we held a Harry Potter Summit I got a GREAT deal at the Allegro Hotel. . .which is across the street from the green line, which is the El that takes you to Oak Park. . .
Hey, I am flying into Midway that Friday night (5/15) and have booked a room at the Days Inn in Bridgeview, which appears to be pretty near the restaurant. Any chance of a ride to the gathering? I'd also be in need of a ride back to Midway around 7 pm or so (as of now, I'm flying out Saturday night. I'm flying Southwest, so that *could* change, depending on plans...) Either direction would be wonderful!
I don't think it would be a problem to come and grab you and to arrange for a ride back to midway that evening. Just keep me posted! Send me an IM on here if you want and we can arrange some details.
Argh~ I just tried PMing you and it won't let me. :-P Anywhoo, here's what I was going to say.
Hey there! I see no issue with giving rides to and from the memorial, so that shouldn't be a problem at all. If needed, I might be able to swing rides to the airport on Saturday night and possibly Sunday, but if anyone is coming in on Friday I don't think I can cover. . . but I think B_Briarwood is in the 'hood as well and has offered up her services. Did you ever find out if there was a shuttle at the Hilton?
So, yeah. I'm more than willing to provide shuttle service. :-) Just keep me in the loop about your (collective) plans! Oh, and I Can always be reached at frankiescalzi@hotmail.com as well.
Except that it just dawned on me that you won't NEED to go to Oak Park at all. Oy. Sorry, my brain has been rather addled lately.
Anyway, I'll do some more looking on the South Side. I know the Oak Lawn Hilton is nice. I've had both my parents stay there before, and I could definitely ferry people to and from the shindig from there at the very least.
I already offered ferry service as well. I live in Oak Lawn so airport pick up and getting to the restaurant wouldn't be a problem.
Actually if I can get my house sorted out a bit I could also offer a couch or two to crash on, but that depends on how much I can get accomplished in the meantime.
I'd actually booked a room at the Days Inn in Bridgeview, which appears to be pretty close to both Midway & the restaurant. (I figured cover my bases until I knew what others were doing).
Is that a good/bad/indifferent place to stay?
I'm going to have a look at the Oak Lawn Hilton, too...
I would REALLY like us to all stay at the same place so we can meet together. So whatever you decide, let me know, ok? I'm going to the Oak Lawn Hilton site now to see what they have....
Hey, there! I was going to complain I didn't get notified of these comments, but realized you just posted them! I'm flying in Friday night. Southwest Airlines. I should be to Midway at 7pm.
So far, I have a room at the Days Inn in Bridgeview for Friday night & fly out 8:30 pm Saturday night. That is open to change depending on what people plan, but I needed to buy something, and the price was really good... (I do love that Southwest allows you to change your tickets with no penalty!)
I'm open to switching to the Oak Lawn Hilton if lots of others are going to be there, but last time I checked their site, they were unable to guarantee me a non-smoking room, and that's kind of a deal breaker. But hotels are easy to change depending on what works out.
Let me know.
Do I have your email? I'll have to go look. There has to be a more efficient way to do this!
