Dumb Question #1: how do I get rid of a yucky old mattress? I do not have a pickup truck. (my garbage men will take it but they will charge me $30.00)
Dumb Question #2: Do I have to bring my own rope to buy a real Christmas tree?

Not sure about the matress, but yes, you'll need your own rope for your tree, some places will have it, but it's not very good.

Another option with the old mattress is to put it on the free items on craigslist. Be up front about the shape and you just want it gone. Trust me, someone came and took our old queen size funky mattress we had for like 5 years that had been in the garage for almost 8 months and I was giddy to get rid of it! You'de be suprised!

if its yucky to only your standards, the salvation army will pick it up

are you getting a new mattress? most places will take away the old when they bring the new. that's what Rooms To Go did when i got my new one delivered.
