not that I have the money for it, but I covet the Kindle. Big time. But if I can get an iPhone (or hell, since we're being imaginary anyways, an iPad) that will also read kindle books as well as make calls and surf the internets and all of that stuff, why would I get a kindle that just has one application? Kindles are $260, iPhones are between $200

There are those that swear by the Kindle's e-ink. You should probably look at one and (if possible) go play with it for a few hours in various lighting conditions.

Personally, I dislike that the kindle can't read pdf or other ebooks, only those downloaded through amazon.com. Also, many computers and devices allow you to turn off the backlight. Don't know about the iphone or ipad
