I don't do a lot of memes, but... Well, I need a break from my database assignment anyway. When it's just an example, they usually let us choose the names and companies and whatever other sample data we need to input, and more than once now I've inadvertently assigned Jeeves to be the president of Baby The Stars Shine Bright, a Japanese Lolita ( Read more... )

I've inadvertently assigned Jeeves to be the president of Baby The Stars Shine Bright, a Japanese Lolita clothing line.

Can't...stop...laughing...

I had pretty much the entire score of Cats memorized as a child, and my first cat was named Mistoffles. People in the online fandom scare me even more than the people who knock it, but I know what you mean. On the other hand, there are at least two J&W fics where Bustopher Jones makes a cameo, and that acts as balm to a wounded inner child.

Jeeves can make the o.O face all he likes, but he ought to be grateful he got off as easily as he did. At least I was paying enough attention to make sure he was president; there were slots open for models too.

Heh. My sister kept trying to rename our cat from Brindle to Demeter for the longest time. She eventually compromised with stuffed cats named Rumpelteazer and Mr. Mistoffles.

You know, I generally don't hold any childhood memories sacred when it comes to fandom, but somehow, I can't wrap my mind around the idea of a Cats fandom. I suppose fanart and cosplay aren't too bizarre, but fic...? Come to think of it, I wonder if anyone makes Cats macros?

I'm mostly happy that there's canonical basis for it. Bertie running into Bustopher Jones and reading Sherlock Holmes reduces me to making undignified fangirl noises.

I've read Narnia fic that I thought was pretty decent, but I don't specifically seek it out, and I have no desire to go find porn for it. Of course, I don't have a really strong emotional attachment to the Narnia books; I admire them, but I was too young when I read them for the first time, and The Last Battle freaked me out deeply. I didn't really get that everyone went to Heaven at the end; all I took away from it was that everything went wrong with the world and it was scary and then they all died. The trauma still lingers around the edges a bit ( ... )
