I’m doing a rewatch of Game of Thrones s2 in ~preparation~ for the new season and I realized something.

So the good news is that I can actually start recommending The Following! This episode was genuinely shocking and emotional and well-plotted, and all the story strands fed into one another. And. Like. Writing. It was there!

The Following is basically two shows, one of which is SUPER AWESOME AMAZING, and the other of which is kinda meh. So first I’ll focus on ‘The Following: Murderous Threesome’ and then I’ll complain about ‘The Following: Kevin Bacon, Generic Cop With Secret Pain’.

In its second season, Bunheads is really solidifying its place as one of the most frustrating yet potential-filled shows on TV.

If I didn’t know that Amy Sherman-Palladino (creator of Gilmore Girls) were a hugely experienced TV writer, I’d chalk the show’s issues up to an inexperienced show-runner. Because, dammit ASP, this is not how you write. ( Read more... )

I watched West of Memphis a.k.a. celebrities lavish praise upon themselves for singlehandedly freeing the West Memphis ThreeAs far as I can see, the only thing this documentary added to Paradise Lost’s version of events was a degree of polish. It’s a neater documentary than the Paradise Lost trilogy and, as a newcomer to the case, you could watch ( Read more... )
