so i'm listening to this song on the "city of god" soundtrack; i like the music, the sound of the guy's voice. i'm thinking, "i wonder what this guy's actually saying?"
the portugese i've picked up at work doesnt help any.
the only lyrics i can find are still in portugese, but when they're translated:

I've always found this song to be unbelievably moving and erotic. It seemed that it had to be about love--no question. I Googled the lyrics, and found a decent English translation of them (which I haven't been able to find again since--still looking, and will post to you if I find it)--what he is singing about is definitely erotic, but it seems to me, based on my recall of the translation, to be the erotics of the mind. Of realizing new ways of seeing things, of discovering that you are changing (yourself and your mind) all the time, and being overwhelmed by it, but in a way that is similar to the overwhelming nature of sex.

I wish I could find that translation. I'm probably misremembering it completely.

that's a really beautiful interpretation. what in particular do you find erotic about the song? the lyrics, voice, music, or the combination? personally, i just like the relatively laid-back, almost sad way he sings it. i've come to love brazilian music, i think portugese is the most beautiful language, and i simply like the slower feel of the song, while it still has passion.
can i ask how you found me, or if i know you?
