The scary part is sticking your legs out of a plane at 10,000 feet. Even off of a small Cessna, the wind is so strong it tugs your legs back along the plane, plaintively at first, but with greater urgency as you are pushed forward, till you're hanging past the landing gear strut staring down a tunnel 10,000 feet deep. wow, jimmy! intense entry. Just your description of leaving the plane and flying into that 10,000-feet-deep 'tunnel,' got my adrenaline. Whew, brave guy! Is landing hard? how fast are you traveling when you actually hit the ground?

You use the chute to slow you down before landing, so you only hit as if you fell less than 8 feet or so, at most, and you're usually moving forward faster than you are down, so you can slide into the ground.
