Plastination

Hmmm I just watched a documentry on plastination. I had heard of it befour in the Sunday magazine because the guys exhibition was coming to Sydney I think. Its worrying, I mean dont get me wrong I think he is a brilliant guy and the fact he had made this advance will benifit medical science. I heard about it a few years ago - Ripley's Believe It or Not.

Might I ask why science is more important than art? Just wondering your opinion is all.

Bodyworks Exhibition, which feature's many examples of plastination was in Sydney at the start of the year...
I think it's now in Melbourne.

It was an awesome exhibition, full of flayed open cadaver's. Quite, confronting. I was quite disturbed as you pointed out by the number of people - including children, who were "yes. this is the lung" - and so very medical about it. I was looking at this cut up person who was sliced thinking "Wow, I couldn't tell if this wasn't what they sell at the butcher"
Though I found it all so intriguing I felt physicly ill at the end... All of these exhibits were real life people!
