Other:
Idioglossia: Being an identical twin, Jim and Mike share a language of their own devising, one they refer to as "Short Talk." Unlike most idioglossias, however, with a little time and effort, one can usually derive a basic understanding of its workings, which consist mainly of otherwise out of place words, phrases, and seemingly ridiculous references only the two men understand. Both have a bad habit of breaking into Short Talk in each other's presence, regardless of who might be in the room, and have been seen on more than one occasion carrying on conversations for hours in this fashion.
Psychology: After the death of his mother, Mike wrestled with some serious emotional and psychological issues, among them depression, schizophrenia, and issues relating to overidentifying with his brother. At seventeen, Mike even spent some time in an institution. By the time he emerged from his teen years, however, his condition had improved significantly, allowing him to not only be released, but eventually come off of all his medications. Though cleared for duty and otherwise in possession of a clean bill of mental health, Mike still wrestles with his good and bad days, and has been known on certain occasions to have more than just a short fuse or a traditional Irishman's temper.
