Jim left the computer and slipped out of his quarters as Aedeline got into a comment conversation, grinning as he made a beeline for a balcony on one of the outer terraces in the city where he'd seen some unusual blossoms growing. She was in the middle of shaking her head and Jim, and trying to explain just why not all girls thought being thought of as helpless was charming to Woody. Shannon was a nice girl, but even she could sort out that Shannon was a bit too independent on that level. However if he had managed to stick around and she stuck to him too, then they actually had something there and that was a good thing. Addie heard the knock at her door and huffed a strand of hair out of her eyes in frustration ( ... )

"Baby, the way *I* grovel, it takes *weeks* to be done with it." he promised with a smirk, then shifting both bouquets into one large hand, he plucked out a single blossom and reached out to tuck it behind her ear with a grin.

"Mmmmm...lookit that. Poor thing's dying already 'cause you're making it look bad." he teased with a sincere smile, letting his fingers wander for a moment to run through her hair before he pulled loose another blossom and clutched it between his teeth with an exaggerated wag of his eyebrows.

It was a wonder how Addie could have even understood a word like love, or forgiveness before meeting Jim. She couldn't even look back on anything without wondering how it could have been different if she had known him. He stood there in all of his goofiness and she couldn't love him any less, or probably anymore than she did in those odd moments. It was the subtle hints that he made, or the way he made her smile so that her eyes lit up and her nose crinkled at the bridge a bit. All those little things, and then the grand sweeping gestures that floored her each time ( ... )

When he saw her smile, Jim knew he was forgiven...hell, he knew there had never been much to forgive. Still, the groveling was fun, especially when he knew he could give Addie a giggle out of it...that dimpled, elfin grin of hers was the kind of thing he lived for ( ... )
