Bubblegum guitars...puhlease

So, I tried to do that Playlist survey, but just as I finished the last lyric, the window shut down! I'm afraid it will be a while before I can make myself redo it. Got bored and looked around livejournal stuff, rearranged some friends and their color choices...talked to Tangee for a while...and now I'm very awake. Good time to talk about random ( Read more... )

You didn't miss being a slave to it.
You were only a slave to it during an earlier phase.
Granted, it wasn't as blatantly manufactured then, but it was still there to enslave you, just as it always has been and always will be.

Sorry for the assumption. oldboneclaws December 30 2004, 19:46:09 UTC
Who am I to assume that you, like everyone else in the past fifty years or so, fell prey to the evils of manufactured/poppy music?

Perhaps you only listen to pure music.
Like... um... The William Tell Overture?
Or, something more modern, like Thelonius Monk?
Or, perhaps, John Lennon (post-Beatles).

(Because almost all "modern" music has been manufactured to some degree.
Not even The Beatles were immune to this.)

And, even in the rare circumstances when the music hasn't been manufactured, the poppy/trendy/MTV factor inevitably pollutes it.

But again, who am I to assume?
So I apologize.

P.S. Bugs Bunny may or may not have (inadvertently) polluted classical music, too... SORRY.

Still yet, I highly recommend both the William Tell Overture as well as the Ride of the Valkyrie. Good stuff...

You couldn't have written such a long rant without anticipating a reply...

Now, now...calm down. Don't get your panties in bind. Didn't know such a silly entry or spontaneous reply was going to get you all emotional.

And perhaps I didn't like the way you "electronically" patted me on the head and sent me off to play with toys better suited for my naive mind.

See now, you've gotten me all cranky over something quite silly.

PS: as a sidenote...I just prefer music written with some sincerity and feeling by the artist or a talented writer...not some untalented producer, which seems manufactured, superficial, and fakey.

PPS: and you're right...who are you to assume. Furthermore,I never liked Bugs Bunny.
