In regards to phones you could go with a trak phone. You pay for minutes as you need them. So you could have a phone and still have it be affordable. My boss has one and she managages to use only 60 minutes every 3 months. So I would suggest that if you are not making much.

I had a trak phone before and it worked out fine cause I hardly used my phone, but when I had my cell phone I talked on it all the time so I know that if I get a trak phone even with a lot of mintues on the phone card I get it's gonna get all run out.. So yeah. I'll look into trak phones too, but I am worried I'll run out of minutes quickly and stuff, but we'll see what happens.
