Soooooo.....

I am sure somewhere somebody (a lot of somebodies) are probably freaking out and are sticking needles into Kripke voodoo dolls after watching tonight's episode.  Me?  I loved it.  While I tried to remain un-spoiled, I knew the concept of the episode.  I knew that Adam would present himself as the boys' brother.  That's all I knew basically, that and the official episode summary and the preview they aired for the episode.  But unlike most of the fandom that was freaking out over it, I was actually more interested in how Sam and Dean reacted to the news.  How different their reactions would be and what that meant.  While I did kinda expect Sam to jump in and start teachign the kid and Dean be on the hurt side, obviously upset that while John missed their birthdays and holidays, he took Adam to baseball games and fishing, I did not expect Dean to findally figure something that the fans have known for years.

Dear Dean, my dearest Dean.  I love you, you know I do.  But....really?  It took you THAT long to figure out that Sam is just like John?  Only more badass obviously. But still.... does that mean maybe Dean will finally realize that he didn't know Sam at all?  That all these years he only knew the version of Sam that he built in his own mind?  Yeah, too much to hope for.  So, on with the show...

As I mentioned, I love this episode.  So, just random thoughts:

- Dean listening to Sam give 'Adam' the same speech John gave Sam right before he left for Standford.  I honestly thought we would never get any additional information on that time in the boys' life, so it was nice getting that little tidbit.
- Rock/paper/scisors - LMAO.  Oh, Dean, you really never learn, do you?  *giggles*
- The whole revenge theme
- Sam's 'He's a Winchester, he's cursed' line
- Sam's view on the world.  *sighs*  Oh, Sammy.  As much as I love the badass you, my heart aches to see the complete and utter loss of that innocent part of you, the hopeful one, the part that thought that having a future full of white picket fences was possible even for a Winchester
- Dean as an FBI agent.  "Law and Order"?  lol
- Dean figuring out the connection of why the 'thing' was going after Adam and his mom and the bartender and the role John played
- Sammy being hard on himself because he didn't figure it out right away.  Oh, my poor buff nerd.

Can I just say?  Watching them drink Sammy's blood?  Even worse than watching Sam drink Ruby's blood.  Just....wrong. I was cringing the entire time.  I was also yelling at Dean to kill 'Adam' already because poor Sammy was bleeding out.  Love the fact that the moment Sam yelled 'They're ghouls', Dean reacted accordingly.  See, boys, when you're together, good things happen.  When you're not, bad things happen.  Like getting burried alive.  Yes, Dean, I'm looking at you.

Last scene...well, it was heartbreaking to know that they DID have a brother and never got a chance to know him.  I do wonder at Sam's comment about calling in the favor with Cas.  Would Cas really do it?  Just like that?  I have my doubts.  But then, is that foreshadowing of something else?  Hmmmm, Kripke's big on foreshadowing, though usually it's about bad things to come.  But does make me think.

And the last conversation between the boys.... *sighs*
