Ok, Kripke. You are officially forgiven.
Dean, ditto.
Sammy....*sighs*.....yeah, we all knew this was coming, right?
Ok, so the episode has absolutely no surprises. Well, it did, but that was actually a pleasant one. I didn't expect Dean actually listening to Bobby and getting over his anger there. I didn't expect them both to basically kill Lilith. I figured it would be Dean, but Sammy helped. See, boys, when you're working together good things happen.
So....bullet points until I re-watch the episode:
- Sammy broke my heart in the beginning there with the 'You're talking like I got an after'. Oh, Sammy. *feeds him more cookies*
- Dear Bobby, you really do deserve a statue built in your honor. Seriously. Thank you so much for getting through to Dean.
- Dean, thank you so much for listening to Bobby. You know he's awesome. You said so yourself. Going forward, ALWAYS listen to Bobby. Deal?
- Cas? It's too much to ask for you to just be killed by the archeangel, isn't it? *sighs* Well, fine, you were kinda sorta useful today. I still don't like you.
- Dean being bribed with burgers, beer, and his celebrety crush was sorta kinda funny. Actually, no, just Jensen's reaction was funny.
- Is it bad that I hate the idea that Dean can somehow stop Lucifer? Actually I hate that and don't get it. Also, as I mentioned, I want the boys to work together. Not have one be the chosen one, or whatever.
- I LOVE Dean saying that he and Sam can stop the apocalypse. It wasn't just about him for a change. I also loved that he knew, changed or not, that Sam would not just roll over and play along with the angels' plan. Of course, he played straight into their hands, but it's not like Sam knew, right?
- So, I still don't get something - did Lilith know when she first started this whole thing that she would have to die?
In conclusion:
- Thank you Kripke for giving us our Dean back. Was he locked in that room all this season? 'cause if we knew, we would have broken him out a long time ago.
- Thank you so much for finally explaining exactly why Azazel wanted Sam. That was actually a surprise. A very pleasant one. I kinda gave up on your ever addressing that one.
- Thank you for not killing Bobby. Huge, ginormous, Jared-sized thank you for that one.
I'm sure I missed a ton of important stuff, but I need to watch the episode again before I can form a more coherent thought.
