Haha. My car's name is Gertrude and I was reading fast, so I read this as if your car had broken down. I'm such an idiot. :-O That's nice that your library rents them out. I hope you're able to get yours fixed or find a cheap (but good) replacement!

I was just on Facebook, and I think Emily's going to email Ken?

Wow, I didn't know the port wasn't replacable, I'm so glad my problem turned out to just be the power adaptor and I got a new one! I probably would have thrown my laptop against the wall if I'd found out I would have to replace the whole motherboard! Hopefully those computer guys can fix it, the guy who fixed my laptop reckons that often you get told you'll need a new motherboard when really someone who is qualified to fix computers at the component level can just do a little soldering and it's fine.

Wow, that same exact problem JUST happened to me a couple weeks ago!! I had a dell named Betsy. I took my computer to a place over here where they looked at it for free. They told me that dell would have to sell me the part and then they could sauder it on, but dell wouldn't sell me the part, so I had to buy a whole new computer. Unfortunately, my battery was dead when I found out that this happened...I went to plug in my computer and I thought that the power adaptor wasn't working ( like in Toni's case) because that had happened before...so I took it to the source to see if I could get another adaptor and that's when they told me that they didn't think it was my adaptor and that I should bring it in to this other place for them to look at it ( ... )

eeeep...that's what I'm afraid will happen to me. I'm sure that these ppl can fix it, but I know if they need a part, that they won't be able to get it from Dell.

If I have to buy a new computer, I think I'm getting an hp... What did you get?

I really hope you're able to get your computer fixed!!

After first I got a Mac because I didn't want Windows Vista, but it turned out that the Mac I bought had some problems with it and I sadly realized that I couldn't afford to buy Word for Mac in order to do my school assignments. I ended up buying a Toshiba and I was surprised at how much I actually like Vista.

Good luck though, hopefully you can just get your computer fixed!!
