In order to free ourselves from the matrix(system of control) that we all reside in, we must first gain a complete disbelief in it. That is, if we don't get offered a random red pill. The true concept of "Nirvana," estranged from its origin over the centuries, lies in free will. That which you choose to do is, scientifically-speaking, mandated by that which has happened thus far - it's called behavioral psychology. However, it is both nature and nurture that dictate how we act in any given situation. The history of everything is wrapped-up in the blank spaces of our genes, and we are influenced by those that surround us in our formative years; though, to be honest, those 'formative' years can truly take place at any point in time, and are usually (and incorrectly) deemed to be the early years. The psyche is not a static entity, and is under constant assault from outside influences.

The metaphor of Siddartha sitting in the crux of the roots of a tree for all eternity is not important because he did so, but rather, why he did so. In essence, nirvana is a state of being derived from the ability to make a decision unaffected by both immediate circumstance and prior happening. Completely at peace - not necessarily from ( ... )
