She runs.
There's an explosion and guilt that never quite appears, though tears glitter in her eyes. The fireball spirals and lights up the sky as the motorcycle roars victoriously beneath her. Kate will never be sorry that bastard's gone.
She falls.
The plane goes down, metal spinning out of control as the sky fills with dying screams. Turns out, running wasn't so much necessity as it was destiny. The blood on her hands isn't guilt free.
She dies.
Death comes surprisingly peaceful, stealing her away in the middle of the night. No tears and no place to run, only a misplaced, 'I'm sorry,' that fills the silence.
