Kate crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow, the challenging gleam in her brilliant eyes telling him she thought he was halfway to Crazy Town. So, there's really only one thing he can do.
It's not a choice so much as the perfect option. A risk. One he can't be absolutely sure she won't kick his ass for later, but the need to prove her wrong is powerful.
He stepped closer and braced her hips between his hands. The challenge fell from her eyes and he watched as her tongue darted against her pink lips.
And kissed her.
