Josh is there, sitting on the edge of the chair, his fingers resting between hers. He doesn't look up when the door clicks shut, but his hand tightens around hers, Castle notes, holding himself to her just a little bit stronger, as if he can feel her slipping away from him just by the other man's presence.
Castle understands completely.
They are two broken souls, woven together through their love for one extraordinary woman, a wounded soul herself, who lays too still in her bed, shattered by truths and a bullet.
Josh turns to him.
