This is SUCH a beautiful and original story! I loved how Birgit, and the other thestrals, were such a huge part of Harry and Ginny's lives--the mourning song, pulling the wedding carriage (I LOVED the symbolism there), saving James(TOO CUTE), Harry's being an overprotective dad(LOL), and finally pulling Ginny's coffin. I think I've read through your story three times and cried every time when Birgit is mourning Harry.

I liked the idea that the thestrals provided a thread of continuity in their lives, and I'm so glad that came through. I get a little teary at the end too.
