I'm sorry for the loss to you and your family. It sounds like your mother-in-law lived a fulfilling, incredible life which I'm sure is being rewarded right now.
I'm so sorry for your loss. She sounds like a remarkable woman who was open to change and growth at all stages of her life. She's on that "next great adventure" now, but it's hard on all of you who have to say good-bye. *hugs*
Aw, thank you! You're quite right - she was open to change and growth, and that was one of the things her daughter highlighted in the eulogy.
When you love someone with dementia, you think that you are saying good bye a little at a time all the time - but that last time is more powerful than you expect it will be.
I'm so sorry to hear that. Your mother-in-law sounds like a wonderful woman. In particular, I'm glad that Alzheimer's didn't rob her of all her joy in life (or you of your pleasure in her).
Thank you. It was truly a gift that her disease rarely made her difficult or aggressive. On the contrary, she would call everyone her friend and frequently tell me what a good friend I was.
