The Girl in the Fireplace

*wibbles*

I loved this one, considering I thought nothing could outdo School Reunion. Well, it came pretty damn close.

Renitte was such a sad character, and they would have been perfect for each other. I was a bit weirded-out by the fact that he would leave Rose and Mickey behind (wonderful that you went to save Renitte, deary, but at least give your companions some thought).

Anyway, that aside, it was fantastic with Sophia Myles. She was such a cute little girl, and I bet she used to take a running leap from the door to clear about a metre on the side of her bed after that night, though. Oh well, didn't we all think there was a crocodile or a tiger under our beds? *shuffles akwardly*

Loved the horse. Very cute.

Renitte kissing him opened up the idea that she had been obsessing over him for years and years. How sweet :D

The fact that he wasn't all that concerned that he had to stay in France was so unlike him, and yet so right for him too.

I was a bit annoyed about the lack-of-Mickey-usage. They should have had an episode like The Long Game, but about Mickey instead of Adam. And the tossing out bit. I just thought that for his first actual companion episode, he was poorly used, considering he had been in the background for ages and ages.

But, very good tear-jerker. And the epilogue with the SS(?) Madame de Pompadour was fantastic, but a pity he never found out. At least the omg so so so sad letter gave him some closure.

// Inconsistant ramble over.
