I decided not to do the study.

I also decided not to do the alternate doctor's plan, as my first doctor thought it was plain ridiculous, and had some decent reasons for her opinion.

My decision, for now, is to do Lapatinib (which has now, finally, been made available) and to find a new doctor who will work with me to find a useful chemotherapy ( Read more... )

This last couple of days has been all about medical consultations. I had new MRIs done, and talked to a total of three doctors (not counting the naturopath) and a research coordinator; all about what I'm going to do next.

I got two calls today: one from the research coordinator in Tacoma with bad news: I don't qualify for the drug trial there.  It turns out that I have to have an "active" tumor, so they can measure it over the course of the study.  Since my latest tumor got zapped by Gamma Knife radiation, I don't get to do this trial.

What happened to my formatting?  This sucks.

ETA:  I got it mostly back the way I want it, but I have to live with advertising now.  Not sure if I'm going to stand for that.
