Getting everyone acquainted was a bit of trouble, discovering a few new things while eating ice cream was also a bit of trouble. Hopefully, I've got everything squared away.

Thanks so much! *wiggles in glee*

Layton was hard to do. I had to create a balance between how we usually know him and the tiny changes being made to him thanks to Hershel goofing around. I wanted his past to be believable and yet different from what we think of him, so that was also a bit tough, but he uses a few of those skills to help solve puzzles, right?

The two boys bickering just seemed so natural, full of pride for their mentors rather than themselves, and as they try upping the ante, their older selves come to wonder why they were they way they are. (lol made no sense) I've seen fanart where the two of them, both kids, get along like best pals, but even friends have their little spats. Here, they start on kind of the wrong foot.

Legal!Luke/Flora is a careful little waltz I'm doing, sweet, but inevitably sad. The two as they are now can never be, but the seed of romance will at least be planted for the future.

Here's to the next chapter, I hope it's just as good!

Ha! I love the irony in this. It makes it so funny.
'Your better!'
'No YOU are!'
XDDD The hat thing was brilliant too. I really like this chapter.

thanks much! I love the irony too! It was too perfect an opportunity to pass up and any chance I can spin irony into a situation, I will.

OH MY GOD WHY DID I NOT READ THIS EARLIER THIS ENTIRE SERIES IS AMAZING

I'm slowly catching up - currently up until here but I'll definitely leave more comments as I go along - I LOVE HOW IRONIC THIS ENTIRE CHAPTER IS. It's so... confusing but cute and asdsfhjgf whut and OH MY GOD HERSHEL AND PROFESSOR LAYTON AND FLORA AND YOUNG LUKE STICKING SPOONS ON THEIR NOSES IS TOO CUTE FOR WORDSSSSSSSSSS

This is seriously amazing though, I mean, my god, I have to re-read anything that mentions time-travel at least five times over to understand it - and this entire thing is just so well planned and... and future!Luke and Professor Layton interacting, and Hershel being the complete polar opposite of the Professor, asghjklkhf ( ... )

oh snap I must be dyslexic or something; I re-read the last paragraph again and realized that they "joined in" the LAUGHTER, not sticking spoons on their noses as well >_> I fail. (BUT IT WAS SUCH A CUTE MENTAL IMAGE ;__;)

Seems to be general assumption based on a translated web article, however, it is the other way around. Luke and Layton travel into the future, not the older Luke going back. Dunno how that's gonna do anything, but this is why I put the disclaimer at the first chapter saying this was completely AU because I had so little real information on it.

Lol and thank you for reading this! I'm glad you're enjoying yourself with this story and hope to see you again when more chapters are written. And the idea of Flora, Young Luke and Layton sticking spoons on their noses is cute! Now I want to do something with that... hmmm....
