I dunno why, but I think I somehow did this while I was drunk... or maybe that was before... I can't remember. Anyway, I'll work on the cover art when my head's not so fuzzy.

Tegaki can get a little moody at times. And Don Paolo really is tough to write for. I had to give him some kind of motive, seeing as the games DO NOT provide one for some insane reason.

Just eleven more hours to go! and if you read between the lines, everything becomes clear.

I absolutely LOVE this! I really hope that Layton is able to help Luke - one way or another. That dream sounds like maybe he will have to sacrifice himself, but either way, you could really have fun playing with us. Thanks so much for the post! Keep it up!

Did Professor Layton just adopt Luke? CUTEST THING EVER. I AM SQUEALING. (of course I could just be wrong but I don't care right now because it's cute and ADORABLE)

...A-hem. Sorry about that. Anyway, this chapter was absolutely fantastic! You kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I think I have an idea about Luke's 'father' and maybe some of Don Paolo's mysteries but I'm not confidant enough to say anything. Eheh.

Your writing is absolutely superb - and I really commend your skills in distinguishing each character (which is hard considering two pairs of them share the same name) without making it redundant. And, as always, your characterization is absolutely perfect. I look forward to more!! :)

I've been reading you fic since last night, and I have to say one thing; you have cured my horrible, unimaginable need for a good read AND something Layton related. I can't believe how well you write! Everything---the dialogue, actions---seem to fit together perfectly! At first, the story was kind of gloomy, yet I couldn't stop myself from staying up last night reading the chapters. Once Luke and Hershel traveled to the Professor's time, everything lightened up without changing the story dramatically.
Just...wow! I can't wait to see how this ends! I can tell it's going to be really dramatic! *watches*
ps - how are you listening to "professor layton's theme" if level-5 didn't release an official soundtrack? I've been dying to get a version I can listen to on my laptop!

I found someone who had managed to pull the music somehow. I can't remember exactly. But I grabbed a copy and found the whole soundtrack packed into a folder. They were in mp3 format, so easy to listen to; if i ever find that place again, I'll send you a link to them.

And thank you very much for your comments, I'm shocked that you sat through the whole thing in one night! This story is kind of a group effort, though I do the bulk of the writing and plot development, my husband is my editor (pointing out errors, misinformation, generally making sure the logic I put in is sound) and I draw a lot of inspiration from my friends at the Tegaki E Layton tag. ArenWolfDemon especially, who introduced me to young Hershel and spawned a little drabble that snowballed into this fic. Credit goes to them all. ^-^

I've just finished reading through all the chapters in one sitting (er, two- I fell asleep at 1 AM on my laptop last night... then I woke up at 8 and started reading again XD )

Anyway, this is superb! Excellent writing and characterization! I was wondering what all those pictures on Tegaki were for, haha. And I love these hints you've been dropping- I think I have an idea where this is going.

How long do you think it's going to be? Longest fic I ever read was 60 chapters... XD

I'm not entirely sure, but I know that the story ends when all 13 hours have ticked by. It takes me a couple of chapters to close an hour, soooo.... urgh math in the morning bad for my head..... ^-^;;

Well, it won't be 60 chapters, that's for sure!
