I really enjoy my periodic opportunities to talk with the professor I teach for - even if it is sometimes a half-hour process to get from, "Well, I guess I should be going," to actually walking out the door

I saw a discussion on reddit a few days ago where someone had called universities a "breeding ground for liberal thought," and the question came up "Why is it that teachers and professors tend to have a liberal slant?" The point was suggested that those who are good teachers are capable of being either good teacher or good workers directly in their field of specialty, but that it took a liberal mindset to put aside the extra money the corporations and such can offer and teach. That a conservative would take the extra money and leave teaching behind. This was said with some derision as the reddit boards tend to have a liberal slant, but I looked at it and thought something differently
