you wanted to smack the liberals? that's real mature...
dead people have 46 chromosomes too. that's a weak point. I don't even know who you are. but I do agree with one thing you've said: that most of the students interviewed were liberal and I think it's good to get both sides of an issue.
you put up the worst pro-life argument i've ever seen. maybe you should do some research like Jess did to further define your position.

dan if i wanted YOUR opinion i would have asked for it, i dont care what you think about what i think, i write whatever the hell i want in my journal and i dont care to hear what u think of it, because actually i do know a lot about abortion, my mom used to work at a pregnancy care center, so i do know this stuff its too bad for you that u dont like my 'argument' considering it wasnt an argument it was an opinion, i wasnt looking to start a debate i was letting out some upset feelings, why dont u go read someone else's live journal, thanksssss. Good-bye

Though I wasn't a huge fan of the assembly, (you can see my comment in Perry's lj if you need explanation) It makes me a little sad to see that no one can have an opinion anymore without someone getting offended...and I'm not just talking about the assembly anymore. Everything's about being P.C, it's somewhat ridiculous. When you have something to say, it's as if everyone has to agree with it, or you can't say it at all. Sorry, but whether you're liberal, or conservative, whether you're pro-choice, pro-life, pro-what ever the hell you want, you will never find an opinion that everyone will agree with, or not be offended by. It's a little frustrating, a little A LOT.

See, I understand where you're coming from...but even you just made your opinion out to be the ONLY right one. And the main problem with the assembly was that is was made out to be mandatory. I didn't know it was a pro-life presentation until I sat down in the auditorium for what people (ms. downie) said was just some random "mandatory community meeting." And I definitely respect your opinion (the whole pro-life opinion) but there are just some things that I don't understand. You may never want an abortion (again, I completely respect that) but if I do, I honestly don't see why other people should be denying me this. See, abortion is a VERY personal descision, meaning everyone should make form their own opinion of it and everyone should decide for themselves where or not they want to have one. So, it doesn't make sense for one group of people to decide for everyone ( ... )

i dont want u to take offense to what i believe i just really believe it, strongly and lj is a way for me to put jot it down. its more of a religious aspect for me.
It is true, i am sure of this that you should at least show respect for the speaker. i dont want some people to control everyone elsem, forcing them not to have abortions, im just saying i dont believe in it for ME, i myself would never have one->v.w.

"no surprise"? creativelove March 2 2005, 01:19:03 UTC
no, none of us who that reporter called for that article were conservative.

yes, perry and sarah and i all sat through that assembly, i would call that being respectful of other's views.

as for "smacking" the "liberals who speak out so harshly towards a person's view, opinion, and way of thinking"? i could take you, darling. haha violence is never the answer! please don't be hypocritical. conservatives are historically the guilty party when it comes to intolerance.

i had an issue with it being a mandatory assembly, because i remember very keenly the SAFERR club's Diversity Day presentation last year...we were not allowed by the administration to make a skit about acceptance a mandatory assembly, and yet the entire school was expected by the administration to attend the pro-life assembly. something rotten inthe state of denmark? perhaps.

as always,
teal

ok.but just being there doesnt make it respectful. conduct is key
with the reasoning for why jess's assembly was mandatory i believe its because it was a Senior Project and many other Seniors have done their Senior Projects during break in the audi. as well. i think SAFERR club's assembly wasnt mandatory because simply it was a club and not a project that counted as a huge chunk of someone's grade. you could have asked not to see it. and why would you say you could take me and also say "haha violence is never the answer!" .? but i think i will just drop this one because its getting old and i am not informed enough to really put up an argument that could/would stir anyone.
