I would think to be more upset that an ideal in my life wasn't reached than if it wasn't realized, and my sadness would depend on the level of ideal that wasn't reached. If someone experiences great pain in their life, i dont think it is weak of character not to show emotion. and I know that each painful, shitty experience in my life does teach me things and helps me to grow, but I am not afraid to show my sadness...usually.
