All Hallow’s Eve festive decorations are oddly appropriate. Nowadays my mood is inclined to the macabre. Hmm. Is the costume truly necessary?
How are you feeling today, Alucard? What about your friend? Megumi, what about you?
As you all are aware, Mr. Reeve is walking into an unfair trial. His judge, the Avatar Raito, was a dangerous, ruthless person according to several declarations of Mr. L that I had the pleasure to listen through this system. None of those descriptions were very comforting.
How could that person be in charge when his idea of justice is biased?
Mr. Reeve stands no legal chance to prove his innocence. However, even so, he has expressed a desire to keep the atmosphere as quiet as possible. While he may be found guilty of the charges of espionage, if we don’t stir ruckus, he couldn’t be accused of forming a rebellious group against our “wonderful” system. This is why, I ask you, for Reeve’s sake, to comply into that wish during the trial. Certainly, those who are close friends with him should voice outrage and express sorrow. If they didn't, it would arise suspicion.
There are other matters to consider.
To continue, I must address this administration in general. In despite of my own bias and dislike to be forced to remain in Vertere, I admit that this world was a peaceful “paradise” as contrast of my own hellish reality of war. I know many of you have ripped the fruits of freedom and content your hearts in some way. I still loathe it but many amongst you have enjoyed yourself within this world. There were strange events but they were not necessary bad, they were unsettling, if any.
Vertere wasn’t completely marred with the Avatars until the measure of the curfew was applied. The incidents involving Rufus and Miss Kayura were exceptions. Rufus was a victim of a personal vendetta, while distasteful and hardly a method I would approve, the Avatar Sephiroth did not offer further damage to this world after that terrible action. The Avatar Crane was punished by his torture on Miss Kayura. Even Mr. Johnny’s lost battle after the victorious fight with the Avatar of Order did not contain a dark edge that justifies my concern.
Those are good, bad or ugly accidents of our “rulers.”
However, the curfew, the arrival of that bloody monster who slaughtered everyone that wandered out their houses and the subsequent shady business about the underworld weren't provoked by strikes of fancy or a nonsensical revenge, they were careful moves. They were schemed and plotted; they weren’t born in the candour of the moment. We have our reasons to suspect of this Raito’s intentions. Even the seraphim was acting upset after the curfew and his “daughter” looked agitated.
Recently, Miss Murray defined Vertere in her journal; the meaning that stood up was “change.” Not so long ago, Mr. Reeve informed me that female angel, Alexiel, delivered him a cryptic message about they (presumably the seraphim and herself) were changing and that wasn’t mean to be.
If, hypothetically speaking, this Holy Hermit creature had benevolent reasons to gather us all here (his methods, though, I would not approve ever), what would happen after that supposed change that is put in motion? How will he change?
We haven’t arrived to a solid conclusion, but I can’t risk this angel being who has the power to unlock doors to worlds including those we hail from, change for the worst. Particularly if that Avatar of Judgement is probably behind the process. I wish I knew how, that is the missing piece.
We must continue to gather information. Until we don’t have a clear idea of what is happening, we cannot elaborate a further plan of action in this multidimensional melodrama. Starting in studying the connection of the Adam Kadmon and this city.
As a final note, take this advice: Don’t live alone, don’t wander alone. You could “disappear” without anyone noticing. Stay with your friends, enemies, strangers, anyone but don’t be alone. Missing people isn’t unusual in dictatorships. Remember that.
You are planning something. Don’t try to hide it from me. Perhaps we haven’t spent many days together, but I can tell that you are as passionate as stubborn in this issue. I would do the same in your place if the worst were to happen. You have been reckless as well as of late. Hm.
I suppose that if you must play hero and rescue Mr. Reeve from his gloomy fate, Rufus, you could hide him inside the walls of Castlevania. This place is a maze that shapes its structure all the bloody time (it's frustrating to wander with a map, as you already know); it would be a good place to hide anything. Unless you have a location ready after that deed.
Apologies if I was mistaken to assume.
ETA:
It seems my assumption of that bloody Raito being a terrible ruler was wrong, after all. If L is right, then he must have been pushing us in purpose. But why...? Why the anxiety and suffering are needed? Hmm. To weaken the angel? To make himself stronger? Does Raito have a supernatural ability to feed off the pain? I should ask L on another occasion. Or are they simple faith/hope/trust trials?
I shouldn't have underestimated. I really shouldn't.
Vertere related to change. That explains so much. I don't want to become different, but... I'm starting to feel the process. I have a friend. .
((OOC: That was looong, but sums more or less what Integral -thanks to many contacts/interaction/etc has discovered- wanted to report. She’s being vague about what happened in the curfew, she knows the gist from a conversation with Reeve but the music boxes are still locked -right?-. Characters don’t have to be an old ally to view the entry. As long they want to rebel or dislike the system, etc. Strikeout only visible to Megumi)).
