I love iiit I will show you how to do things if you get it! It isn't the most user friendly thing in the world but if you do a bit of experimenting you can usually get it to do what you want. Mostly I learn by reading photoshop tutorials and trying to figure out what the GIMP equivalents are...

I love the background, but I would knock it down just a little bit more on the opacity, so it doesn't over power the icon? Granted, that's a fashion that I've never liked too much now, so I'm a bit biased.

I am worried about the borderless ones! For a lot of icons, this works! However, they tend to be icons that don't have blue full bleed, and the way that LJ works is that there is a blue bar behind icons! And that blue will get lost and blurred w/o the border and. yes. If you don't want to do a full black border, I think a dark royal or navy border would give the same visual effect (i.e. separation of icon and background) without having a shit ton of contrast.

Don't worry, I mostly didn'r have a border on that one because I didn't notice until it was uploaded and I thought it wouldn't matter too much just for asking opinions. I fully intend on putting borders on all of them when I actually use them XD
