Spiderman do-over

I'm sure everyone here has already heard the news that Spiderman 4 is being scrapped and instead Sony is looking at rebooting the franchise.  Yes, the 3rd film was terrible, but I think it's ridiculous that there's going to be a reboot of a franchise that started in 2002.  2002!  The first film isn't even 10 years old yet and the last one came out

The Reboot Craze is in full effect right now. After the ginormous successes of the Batman and Star Trek franchises, studios are eager to play that card. Once it stops working so fantastically, they'll simmer down.

I imagine that it'll stop working so fantastically with Spider-Man. Especially if they force it into 3-D. I already have two awesome spider-man movies, why do I need another?
