Hmmm interesting love. For me I have to say my favourite music video of all time is Prefect Drug by NIN. I just love the gothic darkness of it. The imagery was beautiful and powerful to me and fit the song.
Also, Tool videos. Now those capture darkness for me. and the raw power of Tool's music with their fucked up imagery was awesome.
But I loved that song and video by soundgarden too. I think it took you to a very different darkness than me though.
Our darkness is different love. Yours is born of rage and pain. Mine is build of hiding, loss, and above all loneliness. I'm as radiant as I am because I've lived with my whole universe crammed down so compact inside of me that all that could be seen was the surface me. Ever see a table that has so much varnish on it the varnish seems to be the whole table? That's what I was like. Just a thin slab of me holding up a bunch of pretense.
*nods softly* Where I burned my darkness into everything I touched. My darkness is drawn to vibrant, screaming, vivid imagery. Things like the NIN video I described. Bright colors with stark inky blackness. Vultures and disturbed looking children, children who've seen way too much. The bright color of absinthe, green fairy of addictions, with haunting melodies surrounding the drinker.
