Bobby was sitting in front of the fireplace, reading the Bible in case he missed something that he needed to get to Dean when he heard the feet hit the floor upstairs. Instantly his eyes darted up to the ceiling, as if he could see through it and see what was there.
Fingers reach for his shotgun as he hears footsteps running down the stairs. He's watching in the reflection of the mirror, and then stops cold as he sees Jo standing there. It's like a rip right through his soul, knowing that the girl just died.
"You demonic son of a bitch," he growled, turning with one hand while holding onto the shotgun with the other.
She didn't want to drink. It felt like there was a lead weight in her stomach along with a gallon of cold, slimy oil. But she picked up the flask and took a long drink.
"Call them," she said, throwing the flask back at him. "Call them and find out what happened. Find out where my mom is."
Sam was just as broken and tired. Dean might feel the guilt of the failure of the plan, but Sam just kept adding names to the list of family who was dying because of the seal he had broken. So he was being quiet as well and just following Dean's lead.
However, he was just as shocked, but grabbed Dean's arm as he reached for the shotgun because Bobby was sitting right there too. "Dean!"
Bobby moved a bit to shield Jo as well. "Put that gun down you idjet," he warned. "It's her."
"Where's my mom?" she asked, though the moment Dean and Sam returned alone a sinking feeling began to creep over her. They would never leave her mother behind unless they had to.
Dean lowered the shotgun reluctantly, not really fighting Sam because a very huge chunk of him really wanted it to be her, though he didn't know how or why, and while he had heard Jo's question, he didn't know how he could even begin to respond.
"It can't be," he stammered, not taking his eyes off her. "The building -- there wasn't anything -- "

"I haven't talked to the boys since... well, since it happened." He pulled out a flask and tossed it at her.
"You know the drill, sweetheart. Drink."
