Bowling....

I was just watching Bowling for Columbine for the first time. I feel betrayed. By myself that is. I actually agreed with some of what was said by Michal Moore( who is still a loser BTW) and by Marilyn Manson. I dont usually see eye to eye with either of them. I'm still prossesing about this so I will write more thoughts later. I just agree SO much ( Read more... )

We saw it, and actually got into an arguement with some Mooreites when we went to see Farenheit 9/11. They were going off about how great it all was; we disagreed on several points, the largest being Moore's intrusion into Heston's house and leaving the picture of the dead girl on his doorstep. Dramarama.

I think the parents are still the most responsible (allowing locks on doors only the kids had keys for, etc etc), but the ease in which the guns were obtained was pretty :( . It's more sad that kids feel entitled to act out like this, and that the cliche of preps v. geeks is still out there. Moore like to be very heavy-handed in his techniques, like most documentary makers. I like a more mid-line approach; why did the kids feel it was okay to kill others, why were they able to get gun, why didn't the parents know, etc. Not: OMG people give away guns like candy and Charlton Heston wants little girls dead.

Haven't seen it. Probably won't, more because I dislike Moore than because I don't agree with anything on the DVD. He's just another blowhard with a camera and an agenda, no better than Rush Limbaugh, Al Franken, or Ann Coulter.
