So, do you live in Ft Riley? We lived there for a while when I was a kid (when my dad was in the army, obviously), and my little sister was born there.

Thanks! I spent WAY too much time thinking about some of those answers.
No, I'm just here for some good ol' Army training. I just finished a "Combat Advisor" course and will hopefully be in Iraq within a month. (I say "hopefully" because the sooner I get there the sooner I come back to my wife and daughter)

Will you have to be there for a year? I can only imagine how hard it would be to be away from your family that long. :(

Yeah, it's a yearlong tour. The good news is that because it's a "hardship tour" (because I have to embed with the Iraqi Army) I can't get extended plus I get my choice of assignments when I'm done.
I got back late April 2007 from my 1st deployment. It was probably harder on my wife than on me because I was always out running missions. This time will be different because of my daughter. That's why I am so anxious to go ahead and get the year started.
