I also couldn't conceive of how I was going to run a marathon after riding 112 miles (further than I'd ever ridden). But somehow you get caught up in the momentum of the day, and it just happens naturally without you really even noticing it. :)

As always, shubbe is correct. We all have the same thoughts "A marathon after a century+?" but your training carries you through. Plus, it is such a joy to be off the bike, the run will feel like heaven :)

I love the idea that a marathon can "just happen naturally without you really even noticing it."

I know that friendship stuff can be really emotionally wearing so I'm glad you had closure with your situation.

You looked good and strong on Saturday--I know the sun at the end was kind of a bugaboo (it is for me, too) but you DID IT! Good job on the run Sunday!

It is a comforting thought that the marathon will feel "natural" and welcomed after being on the bike for so long. Those words of wisdom and experience will be helpful on race day!!!

At the PlayTri 1/2 IM, I felt that way after a much shorter ride and the race itself was a huge confidence boost for me. This weekend's long ride seemed like a shorter easier ride and I was looking forward to it. However, it felt disproportionately tiring for me. Hydration or lack of may have been a factor for me. The weather was so nice and cool at the start that i may have waited too long to start taking in fluids.

Thanks again for all of the great feedback.
