Kaye enters Milliways a few days after the events at the end of 'Tithe.'
Kaye Fierch grew up believing she was a normal human girl. Sure, she'd always seen faeries, but no-one had believed her and what's to say other kids hadn't. Her childhood friends Spike, Lutie-loo and Gristle certainly hadn't mentioned anything about her being different. Until one night she found the black knight Roiben bleeding to death in the forest. In return for her help, he granted her three questions. Kaye used her questions to steal his full name, not knowing it gave her power over him.
Events spiralled out of Kaye's control, until she learned that she herself was a member of the solitary Fae and that Roiben, her knight, who she was falling in love with, worked for the Unseelie Queen.
Kaye lost more than one friend along the way and grew up faster than expected. In the end, everything worked out alright though. As together, Roiben and Kaye vanquished the Unseelie Queen and exposed her Seelie rival as what she was. Roiben is now the king of Unseelie court and Kaye is trying to rebuild her life.
Then something more amazing than anything else she'd experienced happened; she came to Milliways and found her door disappeared. Trapped, she must learn to live in this unusual place.
Kaye is now free to come and go as she pleases. Having found her Roiben here at Milliways and given her whole heart to him, she was left broken when he fell for another and eventually left them both. For this reason, I had to tweak the second book canon 'Ironside'. The events played out the same way with one small change. Roiben, her prince, does not want her. He was not pretending as a ruse and in the end, she decided she didn't want someone who wouldn't be with her.
It's taken her a long time to move on, but she's finally beginning to learn what happiness means with long-term crush and opposite of Roiben, Kurosaki Ichigo. She lives in New York with her mother now and plans to open her own café.
She is learning what everything means, one day at a time.
