Off to Brooklyn for a visit with $10 in my pocket. I miss it so much. I just want my life back. It wasn't much, but it was mine.

You know, I've only been to Brooklyn once ... for a three-day conference, several years ago. I wasn't expecting to like it, at all, but I did.

Funny how that works, isn't it? Brooklyn is a city within a city, and a big city within a very large one at that. I originally had been trying to get a place in the East Village nearish to a friend of mine. Brooklyn was just supposed to be a temporary stop. But not only do I yearn to go back, my friends from Manhattan have been relocating to Brooklyn themselves.

I'm a boy from the farthest suburbs. These burbs have changed to be more like the city, and not in the good ways, just the bad ones. Nobody's more surprised than I am to discover I was meant to be a city boy.
