A quick update and some thoughts on monogamy

I'm going to a formal tonight for all of the a cappella groups on campus. It's the first one I'm going too since my high school senior ball so I'm pretty excited. I really like the people in my a cappella group, I'm so glad I got involved in it ( Read more... )

itll be 3 years in june

but, in fairness to everyone else, i spend all of my time sleeping and reading, and its not like hot girls just walk up to me in the library and offer me a blowjob in the stacks, so there's not a lot of temptation happening - though i like to think i would turn said hot girl down

It's kind of a sad thing about monogamy being practically dead to our generation. How much is the divorce rate going to skyrocket once we start seriously pursuing relationships? I think one reason why most people our age don't want one person to be faithful to is probably because we're used to short things, like our news sound bytes, electronic gadgets like computers and iPods, things like that. I think it may prove interesting to see who emerges from this stronger than those who don't want monogamous relationships, like Zach and Michelle. Seeing the increase in this kind of behavior just makes those who aren't secure in their desire for a monogamous relationship give in to the social norm, and a domino effect ensues. However, once those of us who want a monogamous relationship survive all this, I think we'll be at an advantage, because despite all the pressure to be like everyone else, we'll have stuck to what we want and have come out all the better for it, therefore giving hope to those who will one day need it in order for ( ... )
