Carrie was right, by the way. The slap bet is so hysterically funny. The scene in season 2 where Barney is tormenting them with his one man play, and Marshall used the slap to end it, just about killed me. I just finished the first episode of season three last night, and Marshall has sent Barney the link to the countdown to the next slap.
I will also say this. They did a pretty masterful job of making you root for Ted and Robin, even though we know ahead of time it isn't going to last.
So, everyone is right. "How I Met Your Mother" is a great show. Darn it.
YES. I've overdone it on that particular Lays potato chips like five times through. Love that show entirely too much.
Have you seen any of the blooper reels on YouTube? They made me love the show even more because you can tell how much the cast loves each other and plays off each other so well. (hell it explains why Robin and Marshall don't have a lot of scenes, they are notorious for cracking each other up and ruining takes... lol)
I have! In fact, despite everyone telling me how funny the show was, I was all like "I will be strong! I will not add more TV to my life!" But the blooper reels killed me so much that I decided to go ahead and see what the show itself was like.
And you're right, they really do seem to love working together, and still have fun doing the show, even after what, seven seasons? Love it!
