Are you waiting for someone, Lyle?

Anyone from my time wouldn't be bad.

If I could suddenly get older, I would.

I don't think you need to here.

Sometimes... it takes a while. And sometimes they leave, and don't come back-

But. I'm sorry, that sounds so sad...

I'll get started on that pet, then.

Have you had this happen to you?

I waited almost a year before my best friend showed up. But some people only have to wait a couple weeks. It's different for everyone, I think.

I was wondering if there was a pattern, but I have a feeling both of my responses would have mentioned something.

I don't think there is. If there were, I think it'd be easier.

Are you the type of person who can handle being alone?

[What a surprise, someone is knocking on Lyle's apartment door. Imagine that.

He's only using one hand, though, because the other arm is curled around Haro.]

[Lyle rises up and goes to answer the door, checking for a moment through the peep hole, and after pausing, he opens the door to look at his brother.

Oh, and he's making a point to look cordial enough.]

On cue, Neil. You don't have someone in my brain, do you?

[Neil looks momentarily surprised that Lyle actually answered the door for him--but then he pushes the emotion away, or at least out of his face, along with anything like relief or gratitude that might have followed it.]

That would be rude of me, I think. It's enough that I know where you are.

You should have a spy network set up to monitor what the Deities are doing to people here. I'm hardly worth the attention. Eden's attractive enough to get information out of someone.

[For the record, Lyle is leaning casually against the door frame, hand gripping it as he bends forward. There's no indication that he's about to let Neil inside, however.]

At least it wasn't Tieria. He seems a lot stuffier now.
