I'm not quite sure whether to be pleased or slightly alarmed that the apple I bought in Sweden to eat on the flight back here, ie a month ago, was still fresh and crisp and juice when I ate it earlier today.
Well, having grown used to your average fruit here going off after about a week tops, having something survive cheerfully for almost a month (it might well have survived for another as well for all I know) is a bit startling.
I mean it's either the good wholesomeness of solid Swedish food, or it's so doped up with preservatives and genetic splicing it might well not constitute being a fruit anymore as much as a synthetic creation.
[has a fit of giggles] I read this like, five minutes ago and I'm still coming back to read it again. I've been a stereotypical teacher, having a red apple on my desk to eat at breaktime this week - it would amuse me to see the kids' faces if I bought a Swedish Apple (OF TOTAL METAL AWESOME) in and left it there for a month....
