『GANTZ』 映画エキストラ 3月8日
I'm FINALLY posting this~
I was picked as #1008 for GANTZ extra for March 8.
Please do not read if you do not want to be spoiled. I don't know whether this will spoil anything though...
Woke up at 4:30AM got out at 5:30AM to buy tuna-mayo onigiri at Big-A and apple pie at MCDonalds. Went to Sakurakaido Station at 6:00AM and ate apple pie there. Bad idea because it started dripping and I started slurping. Rode on 6:07AM train while watching USO Japan.
Arrived at Mejirodai Station at around 7:00AM and gathered in front of the station. A staff was holding an "EX - EXTRA" sign, so I knew right away where to line up. Then, a lady staff came and took us girls who lined up, somewhere else and checked our #s and member cards real quick, then took us somewhere else to line up, in which other fans came and asked what # I was because I was at the end of the line but I didn't know how to answer so the girl next to me answered for me. I was already shivering at this point since the forecast said it was 3-8 degrees Celsius.
We rode on cars that were like buses, 26 seats. It felt cool because it seemed like the cars that Arashi would use but then again, it was dirty so maybe not.
We arrived at Hosei University and had to climb a major slope. I feel bad for those who have to go there everyday... We went into I think Bld #7, into a HUGE classroom. There, we sat in the right side and had our info checked. Later, guys came in too and we all shifted seats to look like a normal class. The staff were fixing the windows and lighting so that it'd be brighter inside the classroom.
At around 8:30AM, they said filming will start soon so we had to turn off our phones. We also had to take our jackets off in the 3-8 degrees Celsius room. There were no heaters at all. Imagine how much shaking was going on lol
I think around 9:30AM, Nino and Yoshitaka Yuriko came into the classroom. They were both wearing a big dark blue down-jacket. They'd take it off during filming and Nino was wearing a blue sweater-ish thing over a white shirt and since it was cold, he'd wear his blue jacket that he uses for the film at times. Yuriko was wearing a beige sweater-ish thing and I don't remember but they were cute clothes.
The staff introduced 3 guys, who played a small role where they just talked, in front of Nino and Yuriko, and they also introduced the professor but did not introduce Nino or Yuriko. Probably because we all know them lol When the staff were introducing the minors, Nino and Yuriko both clapped along w/ the crowd.
There were like, 10 cuts in total for the classroom scene. There were at least 3-4 tests and 1-3 honban for each cuts, every cut was from different angles. One of the staff told all of us that even during tests and honban, don't turn around even though there's someone with a huge aura that you want to jump onto. LOL.
At one point, Nino was playing with a coin with his fingers, engulfed the coin with his hand, put his other hand over his fist and shook his hand, making the coin jump from inside his fist to above his fist. He did this about 2-3 times, making a complicated face and shifting his head. Looked like he still didn't get the hang of it. I suppose he was practicing a magic trick 8D
There was also a point where other people noticed that he looked like he was singing. Who knows?
One of the first scenes that was filmed was of the 3 extras talking and Yuriko pretending to cough. And after that, they took just her voice, coughing, and ended up laughing at the end when she was coughing. She said 「ごめんなさい～！150人の前でNG出すと思わなかった！」 ("I'm sorry~! I didn't think I'll NG in front of 150 people!"), spreading her arms out and laughing.
Another scene after that was that class ended and Nino leaves with Yuriko following behind him, he turns around and says something to her like he was pissed off. She stands there as he goes off, she says 「ごめんなさい・・・」 ("Sorry...") in a small voice as people pass by her. One tall guy like probably rubbed his butt against her. Yeah, he was really close to her lol
Sometime around here, the girl right next to me started coughing horribly, she tried to keep quiet since it was honban, but she couldn't hold it in. I felt bad for her. When the scene finished with her coughing in the background, a staff came and asked if she was alright and told her to go outside. Her and her friend didn't come back for quite a long while.
While the stylists were fixing Yuriko's hair, make, or checking the scenes, Nino and Yuriko would talk and people who were sitting in front and in back were laughing along with them. Those fans are so lucky...
At around 12:00PM, Nino and Yoshitaka Yuriko left the classroom for about 15-30min. I think they were changing clothes because Yoshitaka Yuriko came in with different clothing but Nino had the same clothing on.
At around 2:20PM, we finally had lunch. The staff provided us bento which surprised all of us because the site said they won't provide lunch. The bento had some stuff I dislike but I at it all except the pink カリカリ because I was super hungry. It tasted really good. And before we all ate, we all took pictures of it with our cellphones lol
At 2:45~50, the filming started again and everyone shifted seats...except me and the people around me.
Another scene was, again, the class ended, the students leave with only Nino and Yuriko in the classroom (in reality, the extras in the front like me, were still in the room, just had to be real quiet, same with all scenes). Yuriko goes to Nino and hands him a big brown envelope. Nino has his hands to his face, as though things are going wrong. She asks him something along the lines of 「何かあったんでしょ?」 ("Something happened right?") and he replies with "no", I think. He holds the end of the envelope but lets go and just leaves, taking his backpack in his hand, swinging it so it hits the desk/chair, to make noise, like he's pissed. Yuriko runs after him.
One of the later cuts, the camera was facing my direction from the back and the staff said the people in my direction will be caught on camera. The cut was when the class ended and we were packing up. The staff said to make big movements, like slamming your backpack from your side onto the table and told me to walk up the stairs. I always do that at school anyways so I kept doing that but it looked like the director wanted more so the staff said for some of us to stand up and pack. I always do that too but I forgot to do it there so I did so during the honban and the people next to me looked at me when I stood up and packed. The director gave an OK so I'll be shown standing up and walking away.
Around 4:00PM, the staff told the guys to go outside and the girls to all come to the front. A staff told us that there's a greeting from Nino and everyone screamed. He came in, everyone screamed so loud. I turned around to see who was screaming the loudest and it was those annoying girls who didn't know how to be a university student. I turned back at him and just smiled to look like a decent fan lol
Nino's greeting was along the lines of 「今日はありがとうございました。いい映画になると思いますので是非見てください。みんな(points to all of us and our eyes met)映っるてはずだから自分のために見てね。映画のことはどうでもいいから。皆さんはこの後もう少し撮影残ってますが僕は、一足先に・・・」 ("Thank you for today. I believe it'll be a great movie so please watch it. Everyone will come out in the movie so please watch it for yourselves. You don't need to care about the movie. You guys still have some shootings left but I have to go...") He starts to leave, looks at a staff member, then turns back at us and says 「お疲れさまでした！」 ("Otsukaresama deshita!"). I think Yuriko did her greeting to the guys outside.
After that, a few people went outside and did scenes outside with Yuriko, who was holding a cellphone to her ear. And she left as well.
We still had scenes to do even after Nino left. We just have to walk around outside, around the campus as though going to the next class. There were some students from the university who took pictures, flashing, of us during honban which was rude. I laughed though, cause they were taking pictures of nobody famous :P I had to walk down the stairs. And there, I met two girls when the staff were taking records of our voices. The staff told the people who were born during odd numbered months to talk. We were all like, uhhh lol
Then, we went back into the classroom and there, we got our voices recorded again except this time even numbered birthdays. And lastly, they recorded us leaving the classroom. If you guys hear along the lines of "Kinou to kyou to ashita, renzoku de shigoto arun da yo~" then that's me, I walked right in front of the mics XD
When the filming was over, we got to pick mufflers :D Black and red. The staff told us that that's the GANTZ colors, also blue. The staff told us our fav boy has the muffler too, in both colors XD I picked red because the staff said most people picked black, and my GANTZ peeps picked black.
And sadly, no action scenes with those black tight suits :(

The classroom was big, but I sat just like 5-6 rows in front of him so I saw him pretty close. Nino looked the way he does on TV. Really cute, spiting out jokes, the high pitched voice we all know lol I wasn't spazzing and flailing as much as the other fans. I don't really know why, maybe because it was so dang cold lol I was trying my hardest getting a glimpse of him every time I could, without being freaky, and sometimes, our eyes would meet XDD
I got to be an extra through the Arashi fanclub. I heard some people from the university we were at, got asked to be an extra. And I believe some guys might have been picked to be an extra through Yoshitaka Yuriko's fanclub because the guys had a flyer that they had to bring with them to get in.
