Dear all,
for some, this may seem like we are just crying babies......but anyway....i still want to post bout this.
Today is indeed a special day, because for some reason,
itsmysunshine , juninodaisuki and i, feels like Googling our names, and we found out things that make us really really mad...REPOSTING.
We all know leeching is bad enough. Leeching is taking our things without crediting back. We all learned that lesson already, but today I’m just going to talk about reposting: a seemingly not-so-serious problem, but it is a big issue to us.
WHAT IS REPOSTING ANYWAY?
REPOSTING means -
1) using right click, saving it as an image, and posting it to other places on earth, even though you credit and link back
2) or copying the link location (aka hotlinking) , even though you credit and link back
3) worst case is editing the watermarked images and re-uploading them to your own provider, even though you credit and link back
4) just as bad is copying our mf/mu/etc. links and pasting in your journal/site and ALLOW REPOSTING , even though you credit and link back
Even when you credit and link back, it is still considered reposting. Why? Because you didn’t ask for permission.
If you are making another product out of it, such as translations/scanlation/graphics/headers/banners/ icons(only)., crediting and linking back is enough. This is enough ONLY if you are making another product out of it. Otherwise, ask for permission before you do anything. If you aren't sure, ASK.
Why are we making such a big deal about this?
Because we paid for these magazines and photos. We make such a huge effort to reserve it, buy it, scan it, edit it, watermark it, upload it, share it, and post it. I think we deserve to make a big deal and worry about what we choose to put up and share. DO NOT REMOVE THE WATERMARK. I don’t care how ugly our watermark is. Once you remove it, and even though you edit that picture already or link back, it is still considered an offense and lack of respect for us as well.
VIOLATION CASES
My case - (evidence 0 *solved*) (evidence1) (evidence2) (evidence3) these are all reposting cases which are minor. This, however, is big case is (evidence 4) because she edited my scans, erased the watermark, and re-uploaded to her MU account.

itsmysunshine - I think this is a chronic case!! Do try to read~ (evidence) she took the nino scan from her post, and anchan's translations and only credit itsmysunshine for the scans but not the translation...and we all know how hard is to translate something, and What is this? *solved!!* thanks mandy~ <333

she says: "i don't mind if the scans are used for graphics. but must credit of course. my definition of reposting.. hmm... i just don't want to see my ORIGINAL scans anywhere else (other than on boys_paper and arashi_on, since i don't post them on my LJ), even if they're crediting me. reposting is fine with me PROVIDED they get my consent first."
Basically, you must ask first if you want to repost any of her original scans. You can use the scans for graphics as long as you credit her.
saladesu - She is a translator and someone stole her translation without consent and translated it to Bahasa!! The post was taken down this morning already but here are some screen caps for evidence. ( screen1) ( screen2) ( screen3) (screen4) (screen5) ( screen6) *solved*
zetastarz21 - She's nice enough to give permission to some of her posts, but not all of that that she found on google, meaning there are a lot. The most extreme case is this one where stole the scans and re-uploaded to mu. (evidence)
arashi_anoms - (evidence1),(evidence2),This is the worst.. Uploading her stuff. (evidence3) *solved!!* ,removing water marks... (evidence4)*solved*...and more
There are a lot more cases but we have solved most of them already. Rei-chan (owner of arashi_anoms ) is thinking of closing down her sharing site, im reconsidering to stop sharing scans to is_snowing as well, just because of all these violation issues. We already suffer enough for videos, do you want scanners to stop sharing as well?
HELP US i beg you
I’m really helpless about this. We are all very helpless about this. It isn’t something really big.
It is just a matter of reading the rules and asking for permission.
And we won’t bite~ We are not some Google image searcher or free stock websites that you can just take stuff and credit it without respecting our rules.
We are all fangirls. And we are just humans with flesh and blood, disregarding any differences in race/nationality/etc.
We understand what is flailing and understand that we just go crazy when we see nice pictures of our ichibans, and understand that sometimes we don’t even read the things around them.
BUT we are not rich. We aren’t asking you to pay for our magazines and you don’t need to understand how hard we work to save money just for magazines. We don’t expect you to understand the trouble it takes to travel to Kinokuniya/other stores or the disappointment behind and during the process. We didn’t frown about our poor magazines when it is bent out of shape due to scanning... or the lost pages that drop out... or the scolding we get for spending.
But we do it because we love our fandom.
And we expect a little love and respect from all of you too...
It might be just some TINY LITTLE NOTES FROM US. But it is our wish...
for you, for everyone to read, to understand, and to be aware of these few words.
