It's moments like this one that make me glad I keep a bottle of Cremant in the refrigerator. A crowd is gathering outside the White House to celebrate, but we'll just pop the bubbly here and drink a toast to our troops and thank God none of them were hurt getting public enemy of the world #1.

I seriously hope this is true, though I can't imagine Obama announcing it if they weren't pretty darn sure.

The world could not have lost a more deserving evil scumbag.

The world will be a slightly better place today, no doubt.

I have mixed feelings. glad he's gone (he is, right?) but kind of worried about the power vacuum that comes after. what now? kind of feelings. cynical maybe, but guess I haven't gotten to the relieved part yet.

he deserved not less though, for all he did.

News crews were all over the airports here in DC asking passengers if they were worried about flying for fear of retaliation. I loved what one man said in reply.
"We should never let fear of retaliation stop us from doing the right thing."
Kind of reminds me of that quote about evil flourishing when good men do nothing.
Certainly the terrorists will continue to plot and governments will have to continue to be vigilant, I just can't help feeling proud of our troops now that so many families finally have some measure of justice for the horrible losses they have suffered.

too true.

I said something similar to my mom a few years back: I won't stop flying/travelling just because it MIGHT happen. I want to LIVE my life, thankyouverymuch.
