So all of you who love Twilight just as much as I do, would probably also have flipped out this week, had you been in my Biology class!
Our lab this week was on cellular anatomy, which meant taking a closer look at mitosis and meiosis.
Of course, the very fact that we were using ONION ROOT to study the difference stages of mitosis nearly had me squealing my head off enough to knock me off my stool. XDDD
I took pictures.
Onion root? Only 3 slides... YES, I took PICTURES during the lab, just so I could geek out some more when I got home and show all you amazingly great Steph-heads. (*giggles*)
To top my all-time nerdy-ness off, I had already done this lab at my other high school in Louisville before we moved down to GA. I had been in an advanced Bio class, and had done this same lab before...only it had been four years ago because I had been a SOPHOMORE in high school.
So since we'd used onion root, I timidly raised my hand and asked if we could have used whitefish blastula and gotten the same results.
My lab teacher's eyes grew wide and she stared at me incredulously for a couple of heartbeats before she actually answered that yes, we could. The difference being that whitefish blastula was an animal cell, differing greatly from the plant cell we'd used.
It was definitely an interesting moment and it felt so...surreal. All we would have needed would have been Edward sitting in the seat near mine to complete the scene. My face had already turned redder than a tomato. ^_^;;;
Anyway, the REASON why I still geeked out was because NEXT WEEK we'll be doing the blood-typing lab. We actually have to skewer our fingers to test which type of blood we have.
And it's just my luck too that the scent of blood makes me sick.
My lab teacher said she'd have someone haul me out of the class if I fell over or something. XDDD
So before class ended, I snagged a preview of what we're doing next week:
Ugh...blood I'm a bit excited about this next lab...and also really nervous. =/
