OMG. Word. Amen. I agree with EVERYTHING you say here. And I tweeted you about this before you saw the movie (the not enough H/G moments and the too much H/Hr
( ... )
I was talking with Alex and we decided that we'd actually like to see a remake of the series in like 30 yrs by Syfy or something that makes each book into a 4 hr adaptation. More details, now that all the books have been made you can hint more at HG and RHr. I forget that the movies started filming before all the books were published.
I have been thinking about this and I have come to the conclusion that the only people that the HHR dance sequence insulted was HGers, which really - shouldn't we be used to it by now? lol Because Harry is the one who initiates it and Hermoine is the one who walks away un-interested and still devastated about Ron. But Harry is the 'wtf is he thinking' person which we know he was NOT like that at all, never was and never would be. OOC.
I get that. I noticed it at the time too, but I'm still mad the scene is even in there period. But then again, I am just as vehement of a supporter of H/G as I am of R/Hr. So it makes a bit of sense.
I just wish they could manage to get one of my ships right! But they've done a lot of wrong to both groups. :(
I agree with pretty much EVERYTHING you've said. My biggest wish to add for the last movie is seeing Mcgonagall, hair down, leading the army through Hogwarts & yelling "CHARGE!" That was one of my favorite moments in the whole series--so badass!
(Also, H/Hr naked/makeout thing was just awful. Ron would have been jealous at the kissing alone, why add random nudity lol?)
Oh yes! That part, McGonagall WINS in the final battle not only leading the students to the war with her hair down but also when she starts fighting Voldermort herself! I know, realistically, that all this wont be included in the movie - cause they often suck all the details out. So I think we're going to be boiling down to enjoying the books =/
I pretended they weren't naked but I will admit they did a great job of making them as un-Harry and as un-Hermione like as possible with the silver skin and horrible voice. I was afraid it was going to be all life-like.
I used to read Romoine so long ago, I couldn't tell you any good ones, I swore off HP fiction after I read Book 6 because it skewed my expectations of the books, lol, I expected too much romance. I have been looking for some since Friday cause I'm totally back in love with RHr but I haven't really known where to look.
They had the opportunity to make that a really hair-raising scene, where they afraid that they would freak out the kids watching? No comprendo...
"Of Hearts and Heroes" is fantastic, but was unfortunately never finished. You can find it on checkmated.com, which has some other great fics as well. But that one is one of my favorites and comes highly recommended.
Also, Isabelle's very own "Tomorrow is Only Years Away" is also great, and you can find that on fanfiction under her profile. ;)
