I was reading Caitlin Kiernan's journal. She was ranting about how precision in writing is lost by having to write to the lowest common denominator. Sadly, I know she's right. But I agreed strongly enough that I actually sent her an email to encourage her not to give in.

It looks like the rain has cleared, which is cool. Although we're supposed to be having more storms later. As long as I get to watch works for me. Did get a bit drenched this morning on the commute. It poured before the bus arrived and the bus leaked on me. And if anyone cares the cell phone is dead for the day.

Listening to the new wave cd, I swear the industrial keyboard sounds like zills. Last night I was listening to Gypsy music and nearly fell asleep to the sound of drums. Harlequin is a character in the Commedia dell'arte. His role is that of the trickster, sprite, invisible to most. His heart belonged to Columbine. Columbine worked for "Isabella, a witty self-possessed young lady able to survive even the most involved intrigues." I'm more than a little amused with all of this.
