Got the money thing sorted for now. The car's still making a sound that bothers me, but it drives fine and no check engine lights are showing up. I'm going into work late next Tuesday anyway (primary elections, which means I'll be at work until 10 p.m.), so I'll have a real mechanic take a listen to it then

whereabouts in KC are you looking? There are some awesome apartments and little houses in the KUMED area, and it is a super-walkable area with lots of things to do! (And you'd be living by us!)

We're actually probably going to be more JoCo. We've found a townhouse near College and Quivira which is right next to places Forest can go to look for jobs and is right next to 435 for my commute.

But we will try to visit people more when we're finally moved.
